Prosecuting Intentional HIV Transmission

In the U.S., these cases are sometimes prosecuted as attempted murder cases, though at times nothing or little is done. You might recall WNY’s own case — the case of Nushawn Williams. Williams infected 13 teenage girls with HIV/AIDS and received a 4-12 year sentence on statutory rape charges (apparently, Williams was a rather well-liked crack dealer — several of his victims refused to cooperate with police).

Below you’ll find some resources on that case as well as a new case from Italy.

I assume Williams is out of prison by now. I haven’t been able to find an update on his case.
